Steven was born in 1980 in Narva, Estonia. His family immigrated to the United States in 1988. Growing up in Illinois, Steven knew little of his Jewish identity. After the death of his father, Steven and his mother moved around the east coast and finally settled in Minnesota. In 2001, Steven moved back to Illinois to attend college. Although he was excited to be back in familiar territory, he still felt that there was something bigger and better out there for him, but did not know where to find it.
At a Messiah in the Passover presentation in 2005, Steve saw God’s plan of redemption, and came to faith in the Messiah. During this time he began to find out more and more information about his Jewish identity. While searching for documents required for his citizenship application, he discovered that both his grandparents were Jewish. After much meditation and prayer Steven realized that God was calling him into full-time Jewish ministry.
God has impressed upon Steven a strong desire to learn of his Jewish past and to tell other Jewish people about the Messiah. Currently, Steven is enrolled at Moody Bible Institute in Jewish Studies.
In August 2007, Steven married Jenna, who shares his passion for the Jewish people. They plan to make Aliyah and work in Israel.
