During his time in Israel, Scott's heritage became real to him and he realized that so much of his identity actually was Jewish. He also learned about aspects of Jewish/Christian history that has created barriers, keeping his people from considering Jesus as the Messiah. Ultimately, God used Scott's love for his grandparents to draw him to share the Messiah with his people in a culturally sensitive manner. In 1999 he met Dana Vaccaro, a graduate of Azusa Pacific University, who was also involved in Jewish ministry. They married in 2000 and came on staff with Chosen People Ministries in 2001. Within their first year of marriage God began to place a burden on their hearts for a work in Los Angeles. Realizing the need for additional training, Scott and Dana moved to Chicago, IL where Scott attended Moody Bible Institute and earned his BA in Jewish Studies in 2003. In 2004 Scott began his studies at Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) and graduated in 2007 with a Th.M. (Masters of Theology) in Hebrew Bible. While in seminary, Scott received the Presidents Scholarship and was awarded a Sandy Ford Fellowship. He graduated Dallas Theological Seminary with Highest Honors. During seminary they served with a ministry called Apartment Life in a very trendy part of Dallas, which helped shape their vision for ministry in West Los Angeles and taught them many practical ministry skills. Throughout this time Scott was been active in relational evangelism, teaching, evangelism training, and preaching. While finishing his studies at DTS, Scott was awarded the Parish Pulpit Fellowship, which enabled the Nassaus to spend 6 months living and studying in Israel. During this time they were able to improve their Hebrew, learn Israeli culture, and extensively study and tour the land. In September 2008, they returned to Los Angeles to begin work on the congregation, which the Lord planted in their hearts over 7 years ago. Scott and Dana have two sons, born in 2006 and 2009. Scott Nassau is a Jewish Believer from Southern California. At the age of 19, Scott's grandparents sent him to Israel where he lived on a kibbutz and studied Hebrew, archeology and Jewish history. Little did they know that God would use this trip to burden Scott's heart for ministry to the Jewish People. Scott's grandparents, who survived the concentration camps during WWII, were not religious and did not incorporate their Jewish heritage into family life. Consequently, neither Scott nor his father, were raised with a strong Jewish identity.
